Voices : Voces featuring Danielle Feinberg

Saturday, April 1, 2023, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET FREE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by March 25, 2023

BFB Foundation and Central Piedmont Community College announce our upcoming speaker event to be held in Central Piedmont’s New Theater in the Parr Building.

As part of our Voices : Voces speaker series, we are pleased to bring Danielle Feinberg to Charlotte in the spring of 2023!!

WHY STEM:
The event is important to BFB Foundation’s mission of strengthening communities by supporting education-focused initiatives for girls and women. It provides a platform to positively affect economic mobility in the Charlotte Metro Area, especially concerning the underserved. Our efforts will also support immediate action to advance and provide funds for the education of girls in critical areas of job and livelihood growth, particularly in STEM related areas. Donations are accepted and go directly to funding scholarships in Charlotte and Guatemala through BFB Foundation’s partnership with Central Piedmont.
ABOUT DANIELLE:
Danielle Feinberg is Visual Effects Supervisor at Pixar Animation Studios & Mentor for Girls in STEM. Feinberg’s love of combining computers and art began when she was eight years old, and first programmed a Logo turtle to create images. This eventually led her to a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Harvard University. Now, in addition to her Pixar work, she works with teenage girls, encouraging them to pursue math and science by demonstrating to them the same beautiful simplicity she found with the programmed art of the Logo turtle.

Voices : Voces
featuring Shayla Rivera

BFB Foundation’s inaugural speaker event was an incredible success, bringing together students, educators, and community supporters to hear Shayla Rivera speak about STEM opportunities!

Shayla was generous in her storytelling, recapping experiences with NASA as an engineer, to stumbling upon stage performance as a comedian, and currently as a professor at Texas A&M.

The event came together through the partnership with Central Piedmont Community College, the Ruth G. Shaw Foundation, and of course, through the support of our incredible sponsors.
