In May, the Riecken Foundation was awarded the EFIL-PLIP Innovation award for empowering women. In just four short months, the business center has registered 380 women for courses in Information and Communication Technology.
Through the library, the women have learned to include the cost of their labor and raw materials in the prices they set for their fabric. They have also learned to manage product quality and use computers to prepare accounts. They have gained internet skills that include tracking market trends online, finding customers, marketing and selling fabric online and communicating with clients by email. Recently, the women have started using social media, like Facebook, to advertise their products. We are so proud of the amazing work the Riecken Foundation is doing to empower women!
